• Membership Criteria

    The Chief community is built for senior executive women looking to maximize their leadership impact. At Chief, you will find a diverse, powerful, and highly vetted network of c-suite peers who learn with you, inspire you, and challenge you to achieve your leadership goals.


    Our goal is to build a diverse community. The criteria below is how we evaluate applications. However, because titles vary by organization, industry, and geography, we review every application on an individual basis to determine fit based on current and prior leadership experience.


    We use a range of factors to determine if your seniority level meets the criteria for the Chief community, which include:

    1. Titles: the most commonly held titles amongst our members are CXO and VP; we look for an equivalent title within your organization, industry or geography
    2. Company size, based on number of full time employees
    3. Reporting structure: maximum 4 levels from CEO (varies with company size)
    4. Size of team managed: minimum of 10 full time-employees (varies with company size)
    5. Professional journey: encompassing titles, scope, and increasing responsibilities over the course of your career
    6. For CXO or Owners of extra-small businesses (company size under 50 full-time employees) we welcome applicants whose experience within the last year meets our membership criteria OR whose current business generated $5M or more in annual revenue, during the last fiscal year. We may request additional information or documentation to assess both current and prior experience. See our FAQs for more information.
    7. Chief welcomes applications from leaders at 501(c)(3) charitable organizations with a full time staff of 50+ and a 75+ Charity Navigator ranking.
